Cranberry – apart from the flavour, it is full of goodness - vitamins C, A, B1, B2, P, pectin, fibre, carbohydrates, iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iodine, citric, quinic and malic acids. Cranberry extracts are said to be antiseptic and are commonly used as such. The fruit is slightly tart. The sauce is traditionally used with meat but try it with desserts!
